The Fischer FamilyMy grandfather came to Namibia in 1910, initially only to serve in the German protection force. After his military service though, he stayed in Namibia, and our Farm Omongongua (the Red Wasp) with approx. 6000 acres has been in the family since 1926. I, Hellmut Fischer, was born and raised in Namibia, in close connection with the wonders of our rich wildlife. Since early youth, I have been travelling through my country, as well as Botswana and Zimbabwe far from the beaten path. I am intimate with plant - as well as wildlife and speak, apart from my mother tongue German, English and Afrikaans. My wife Gabi is a Brazilian with German heritage, that came to love Namibia and myself, and has been at home here ever since. For better understanding: In American English, our farm
would be called a Ranch, since we mainly raise cattle.
